The first couple of setups in a INTERESTING location ,,,, two walls of mirrors and one wall of windows and EVERYTHING in shot where ever you look ,,,,,,, AAAHHH

Actually this was the First interesting Location  ,,, Freezing cold beer at Sunset ,,, while waiting for a Production meeting

This was our Talented Dancer Flown in from Canada with his Manager ,,, He was worth every penny they were paying him I think .

We were going to use the Phantom Flex for ALL of the Shooting here in the Dance Studio and the Product shooting in the small studio

NOT this angle against the painted wall ,,, It didnt have the depth and interest of the reflections

Not only were there mirrors on two adjoining walls but the wall of windows was visible in the mirrors as well and Sun was coming in onto the floor ,,,,,,, We were able to use the sunlight in the shots with the help of the 18K and when it clouded over totally we used the 18K to good use as a main source ,,,,
Our Man had some pretty trick moves

There was some interesting art work on the walls ,,, I got the art department to make up  several similar painted panels to use in backgrounds or hide cameras in reflections ,,, It actually worked a treat

The First half of the second Day is in the Dance Studio , we wrap there then relocate to the Studio for the Close product shots

Our last set up before we wrap and move to the studio is the end drinking shot ,,,, It looks great up against the art wall,,, and with a move of the outside 18K it is lit quickly

A Great SPLASH doesnt just happen , you have to work at it .

Our Thai team had made up a few different shapes to get a great splash ,,,,,, the regular crown effect was just too regular so we used a irregular piece of plastic ,,, Great Splash

You would think this was a Post or at least green screen shot ,,, but NO ,,,, Its ALL REAL FOLKS ,, he just got a one armed handstand going on the edge of a low rostrum and he was away ,,, Hand the man a spoon ,,, We shot this in the Production houses Small studio ,,, it was big enough for our needs and we put up a false ceiling piece to match the dance studio

While Justin and Nick check the shooting at the Monitors our Man
does a single handstand to get this shot ,,, a Talented Guyhe is ,

An under the glass floor shot

We set the camera looking up vertically and right under his sitting position
to get the required shot of him laying out the products in line

We used the Phantom Flex for ALL of the shooting including the normal speed shooting    ,,,       ( In this case it is 24fps ,,, Being on location in the Philippines )

When you have this T REX periscope setup you loose several stops of light and you really need plenty of stop to get the required focus depth you need  for the look of the shot . So out comes the 18K sitting about 2 meters away and through a couple of diffusion frames . Its not exactly the old joke about the 20K bouncing off the dentist mirror for a small backlight but it is close he he he

Just love looking at this stuff  ,,,,,,,,,,,,,  It is truly Cinematic art ,,,,,, The things that happen in a fraction of a second transformed into a symphony of motion and light ... Gotta LUV it .

To get a required cone of liquid to put the dancer in the middle of in post our fabulous Thai team has made rigs and done some tests ,,, These guys are great with Liquid and also Flowing hair ,, No hair needed here ,,,,,,,,,, We use the T-Rex lens system for this one shot to enable us to get close enough to the liquid curl ,,,

Its nice to see a man happy in his work ,,, Nick looks like he is having fun ,,, or Not

To get the required light for exposure at the high frame rate and a good stop for some focus depth We have to depend on some BIG guns ,,, The 18K about 2 meters away from the product ,,,

I just love the way 3000fps looks with liquids , amazing stuff ,,,,,,,,,
MORE cinematic ART ,,,,,,
I could look at this stuff for hours ( really ,,, With the right music and a beer or two ,,, he he he )

Well it was all done and dusted ,,,,,, Teamwork

This was the First time I had shot in the Philippines and it was a very professional and enjoyable experience ,,,,,, What also was amazing how uncrowded the Traffic , airport and freeway etc were ,,, after many shoots in Thailand and Indonesia ,,, It was a pleasant calmness .
